About Me

My photo
ragnarsart
Born in Gothenburg, Sweden. I lived 10 years in Latin America and 15 in Germany. Since 1995 I live and work in Provence in the south of France. PAINTINGS: I work in two different styles. humorous paintings of faces and figures in bizarre forms and in bright colours. Human communication plays an important role in these works that often are surrealistic. I have called this style "ARTE SCURILLA". I also illustrate biological, physical and mathematical concepts in an expressionistic manner. The works are abstract with a title to give the spectator a starting point. SCULPTURE: I work with white marble from Carrara, various coloured marble(red from Vitrolles, rose from Brignoles, black from Belgium etc.)and granite. The colour and shape of the stone gives me the inspiration for the finished sculpture which I want to be positioned between the obvious and the hidden.
